It was so amazing seeing Blake and Tricia again after photographing their engagement session in Santa Monica, CA last April. We were up bright and early for a 6:00 AM start time, and I gotta tell you, Tricia looked absolutely fabulous! I know before my wedding, I could not sleep AT ALL! I am sure Michael would say the same. Blake and Tricia were one of those couples that just love being around each other. They could not look at each other for more than a few seconds without smiling. We loved photographing them because they made capturing those moments so easy and natural. Being wedding photographers in Valencia, CA, we do not get cloudy days too often. For the most part, this was no exception, except that we were lucky (clouds are good for photography!) to get a few patches of clouds while photographing this happy couple’s first look. This wedding took place at the Mirage Banquet Hall in Los Angeles. The reception venue was surprisingly beautiful and had a real grand ballroom feel to it. I loved the table numbers that Tricia and Blake made from our engagement photos with them, and I remember now how fast we had to get that done because light was fading fast! Tricia and Blake: Thank you so much for trusting us with your wedding and engagement photos, best of luck to both of you in Oklahoma, and if we visit soon, we will be sure to pay you a visit!!
Their Story (From Tricia and Blake)
How they met (From Blake)
Tricia and I met for the first time at a party in Los Angeles. The night we met, we spent most of it talking and getting to know each other on a deeper level. I drove her home that night and kissed her goodnight, but could not stay away for long. We went on our first official date July 4th in Santa Monica. We watched fireworks together later that night. From that point on we spent every weekend together until she went on vacation to the Philippines. While she was gone, I bought the ring I gave to her when I asked her to marry me.
How he proposed (From Tricia)
After waiting for the right time to ask me to be his wife, Blake finally asked me on a day that he knows would mean so much to me. It was the end of a hectic day. An all day celebration of Trinity’s 4th birthday. As my brothers and friends continue the party, Blake and I called it a night. It was so nice to be able to lay down and relax after such a crazy day. Curious of how he feels about the crazy Filipino party, I asked him if he is prepared to be a part of it. He began telling me of how much he loves me and all, then out of no where, he picked up at little red box, he popped the question, and i said ‘Yes’!
Knowing that my family and friends are still downstairs, I could not wait to share the good news. We both went downstairs and shared the news to everyone. With such excitement, everyone got up of their chairs, clapped and cheered for us. It was really nice to get that kind of reaction from people that means a lot to me.
Blake made it extra special by making it possible for me to share our proposal with everyone that I love.
