One of the things that I always strive to do during a wedding is to create images that are unique and different. This past weekend Jen and I headed down to Temecula Valley California (Wine Country) to photograph Randy and Iris’s Wedding at Pala Mesa Resort. In order to capture a great photograph you need a couple of things. The first thing that you need is emotion. Randy and Iris were in the midst of their first dance when I saw this shot in my head. They were one of the easiest couples to work with because they both are ABSOLUTELY in love.
I think that it is extremely important to incorporate the environment into a photo. As a bride, you have spent countless hours planning your wedding day. I think that it is important to capture that environment in a way that compliments the bride and groom. Randy is a fireman, so you can see the significance of using fire as an element in his photos.
Most reception sites are very dark. Our wedding photography style incorporates a lot of off-camera lighting in order to ensure a dramatic-artsy look to our photographs. It makes them different and helps us to develop our unique look. I think that when hiring a professional, our brides are depending on us to use all lighting techniques to create images, even when it is dark and “natural light” isn’t available. Photographers should be skilled in using all types of light to compliment their subjects.
This wedding had so many great moments, and I cannot wait to share the blog post with you as soon as it’s done!
