There are very few wedding venues in Los Angeles that offer a whimsical garden-like setting, Ferris wheel, merry go round, and a gorgeous ceremony site underneath a gorgeous 200-year-old oak tree. In fact, I can think of just one, Calamigos Ranch Equestrian Center in Malibu.
When Jen and I were getting married, this was one of the venues we considered, it is absolutely gorgeous. Kelly and John could not have picked a better site to have their nuptials! After photographing their engagement session at Placerita Canyon, we had the opportunity to capture their special day.
This wedding featured a beautiful ceremony which was lit gorgeously by the sun from behind. During the reception, we saw some dance moves that would even impress Bruno Tonioli.

Kelly’s bouquet was created by Charmaine from Charmaine’s Bouquet canyon florist, another member of the Santa Clarita Wedding and Event Professionals. 
This moment was right after Kelly’s mom helped put on her necklace. My main objective when photographing a wedding is to look for these moments. 
I don’t remember the name of the designer of Kelly’s bridal gown (maybe you guys can help out in the comments!) but it looked absolutely amazing on her.

When portrait time started, I was like a kid in a candy store, so many awesome locations at Calamigos Ranch to take pictures. 
When time is short, we make couples run from location to location for pictures, just kidding….well…..kind of. We only do it when the running will make for a good photo and the bride isn’t wearing heels.
