We love stories like Katie and Blake’s! Their Los Angeles wedding at The Wilshire Ebell Theater was the culmination of a literal, perfect “match”. We were so lucky to be included in their romantic wedding day.
Their Story:
Malibu native Blake’s Match.com profile probably stood out to Katie because of the couple’s obvious similarities. Both Katie and Blake had common roots in Malibu since Katie was a Pepperdine University alumna, but their compatibility didn’t end with geography. Once they decided to meet in February 2015, these lovebirds just “clicked”. Their shared interests in traveling and backgrounds in medicine, Blake is an ophthalmologist and Katie is an RN in the emergency room, made them a perfect fit.
The Proposal:
Less than two years after meeting, Blake popped the question in Kauai, Hawaii. As their vacation was drawing to a close, Blake took advantage of a secluded Kauai beach where he led Katie to a piece of driftwood and dropped to a knee. In September of 2017, Katie accepted Blake’s sweet, beach proposal.
The Event:
Elegance, glamour and perfect details were the highlights Katie and Blake’s beautiful wedding at The Wilshire Ebell Theater. Everything from Katie’s gorgeous gown from The White Dress to the elegant place settings was perfectly suited to highlight their love story.
As the groomsmen prepared quickly, as groomsmen do, Katie began her day with elaborate hair and makeup styles provided by the talented Kat Laskey and her team. She was a stunning picture as she walked down the aisle holding her one-of-a-kind flowers from Los Angeles based florist, Lori.
The dining room gleamed with stunning centerpieces and more flowers, chosen carefully to reflect the couple’s glamorous theme. As the evening drew to a close, guests filled the dance floor to tunes from The Lucky Devils, a local, customizable live band.
