This destination wedding was one to be remembered. When we arrived, Jen and I realized that Avery and Jilliene were having their wedding reception at the same place that we had stayed on our first time traveling together, however the name of the hotel was different now. Cancun has always been a beautiful venue for destination weddings. Our couple had a beautiful ceremony on the beach, and then capped off the night with a stunning display of fireworks. The next day however was even more fun. In typical MAPhoto fashion, we found the need to improvise when we were denied a permit to photograph at Chichen Itza. Thankfully we had a plan and were able to travel to a beautiful Cenote (sinkhole) that seemed to be used as an ancient amphitheater. Let me be the first to tell you that of all the places that we have photographed, this was likely the most unique. The location featured a platform in the middle of crystal blue groundwater that served as a perfect location for stunning photos. In addition, the humid nature of the Yucatan allowed for the lighting we use to give a soft glow to all of the portraits we took. It was a long day, but one that we will remember forever.
