Starting out as a wedding and engagement photographer, one of the hardest things that I had to do was locate great places to photograph my clients. Being that there was not a good source for photographers to review locations, I thought it would be a good idea to start reviewing some of the locations from our shoots. I had the pleasure of shooting a recent engagement photography session with Inland Empire Wedding Photographer Matt Allende last weekend at Ed Davis Park in Santa Clarita. I have photographed there before on numerous occasions, but rarely have we had the time to really explore the location. Being that we are still in the midst of the fall season (think awesome colors), we thought that it would be a great opportunity to take advantage of the actual park that sits above Towsley Canyon’s trail head in Santa Clarita. Upon exploring the place, I found that the location creates an amazing source for beautiful backgrounds, and vibrant colors. If you are a photographer, or a client, looking for a whimsical location for your session, this would be a perfect solution. As the sun sets through the trees, there is more than enough opportunity to take advantage of the beautiful bokeh potential. There are also various structures around the park that can create a great setting for your session. When you enter the trail, which is located off of The Golden State (5) Freeway, just south of the intersection of Calgrove and The Old Road in Santa Clarita, make sure you pay the parking fee of $7.00 (I learned the hard way a couple of weeks ago). Afterwards, the park has a ton of potential, as long as you are ok with driving through it in order to vary up your scene a bit (possibly with an outfit change as well). Take a look at the photos below for examples of what your session could look like. Our Verdict Towsley Canyon is a great Los Angeles Engagement photography location.
