Can you imagine a better way to celebrate the new year than with a wedding? We were really excited about the opportunity to photograph the wedding of Danielle and Justin because of the challenges it presented. Working with this amazing couple was truly a pleasure. Once we started discussing the details of the wedding, we knew it was going to be something truly special.
The Venue
The wedding was at NeueHouse, a truly nostalgic and historic building located on Sunset Boulevard. It was the original CBS Studios building and is now available as coworking and event space. Their wedding blended both physical and digital imagery to create an enchanted forest that was projected on walls spanning two floors. Guests were absolutely transported to a completely different world when they entered the space. The work and detail that went into that presentation was something absolutely unforgettable. To make sure the photography was spot-on at the venue, we had to plan out the light control just perfectly, because of the video mapping displayed on each of the walls.
The Couple
Danielle and Justin are a really fun couple! They were a blast to work with, and their imagination made the whole experience perfect. Justin works as an entrepreneur and founder of three very successful technology companies. He is currently the Founder and CEO of Nativo Danielle and Justin met through mutual friends. The two love to throw a good party, so it stands to reason that their wedding would be a party to remember. Justin actually proposed to Danielle at one of their famous parties. These two have traveled extensively and already lived so much life together. We feel like the photography from the wedding was able to capture just how close these two are, and how far they have already come together in life.
The Event
The happy couple designed the wedding to be something very different. The overall planning and design was handled by Celebrity Creative Director Xtina Milani. Danielle and Justin described it as having a “new world” vibe fusing Burning Man, Space X, and Alice in Wonderland. The video mapping was something absolutely spectacular, and the venue was the perfect location for such imagery. The audio and visuals were implemented by 1987 Masters, and the florals were done by Butterfly Floral Design. The photography wound-up being an excellent representation of the event, capturing a little bit of the magic of the evening. The reception was designed to be like a traditional New Year’s Eve party.
