While there’s no shortage of glamorous wedding venues in Los Angeles, we recently had the opportunity to shoot at a truly memorable location: the Millennium Biltmore. This hotel is one of LA’s premiere wedding venues, and for good reason. Its European-inspired architecture makes for a breathtaking backdrop to a romantic photo shoot.
Caroline and Gerald’s Special Day
We were able to take advantage of different parts of the venue to get a variety of shots, including one in front of the hotel’s famous Gold Room, which was once a Prohibition-era speakeasy. The Millennium Biltmore is located near the Disney Concert Hall, so we snapped a few portrait shots there, too. Caroline’s beautiful Galia Lahav gown is perfectly complemented by the hotel’s dramatic architecture, from its marble columns, to its crystal chandeliers, to its mural ceilings.
The Venue
The Millennium Biltmore’s all-inclusive wedding package is designed to help you put together a spectacular celebration, complete with ballroom and banquet. We love shooting at this venue because of its extravagant architecture and the fact that every part of it is full of history. Its lobby, for example, was the site of J. F. Kennedy’s presidential nomination in 1960. The frescoes inside its Crystal Ballroom were hand-painted by Italian artist Giovanni Smeraldi. And if the art and history aren’t enough, the Biltmore has also been a music video filming location and hosted ballroom dance competitions. It’s an important part of LA’s past and present.
The Concert Hall
The Disney Concert Hall is a dramatic contrast to the classic elegance of the Biltmore. Home to the LA Philharmonic, its exterior consists of sweeping stainless steel curves, so that it resembles a piece of modern art. Its broad staircase and dramatic silhouette made for an inspiring, unique backdrop to Caroline and Gerald’s photos. To us, the hotel and concert hall together represent many of the things we love about LA: its artistic heart and soul, its fascinating history, and most of all, its glittering future.
