Our travel has been seriously impacted throughout this pandemic….from traveling for destination shoots 2-3 times a month down to only a few times this year. But this proposal shoot HAD to happen. Let me explain the odds David has been up against.
In 2018 David had hired us to photograph his proposal to Celine. David & Celine have a special place in their heart at The French Laundry in Napa, California. The French Laundry is widely considered one of the best restaurants in the world. A 3-star Michelin rated establishment by Chef Thomas Keller. Throughout the planning process one thing or another lead to the proposal being delayed. Then when the pandemic came, the proposal was delayed again.
Now the weekend this was finally set to happen, fires broke out all throughout Napa Valley….but this time David pushed forward anyway. We drove up to Napa and donned our disguises (thanks mask requirements). Jen and I did our typical hiding in the bush to stay out of the way.
As David approached he text me and told me he was on his way. He brought her in front of the iconic blue door, dropped to one knee, and in an instant Celine said yes. David placed the ring on her finger, and they were engaged.
We spent the rest of the day photographing these two all throughout Napa valley, which is stunningly beautiful by the way.
This proposal was beautiful, and these two are beautiful as well. Their chemistry together is undeniable and their love for one another was evident as the two now will begin the planning process for the biggest day of their lives!
