Richell contacted us during the middle of last year in search of a wedding photographer for her and Randall’s wedding this month. We had a ton in common with her from the get go. Her and Randall are getting married at the Castaways in Burbank, the same location that Jen and I are getting married later this year. It turns out that Richell’s parents got married at the Castaways years back, as mine did to! When Jen and I went to Castaways last week to taste the food for our wedding, we ran into Randall and Richell and had dinner with them. At the time we were still not sure about a location to shoot their engagement session in a few days. After doing some research, we settled on UCLA in Westwood. Now, we hadn’t shot there before, and upon arrival, we noticed that it was absolutely magnificent. We tried to cover the majority of the campus, starting at Royce Hall, but we were barely able to get through a fraction of it. Richell and Randall have been together for 8 years, and they are so in love. The smiles you see below are genuine, and we can tell how happy they are by the way they look in each other’s eyes. We cannot wait to shoot their wedding in a few weeks! Jennifer came with me for this shoot, as she does for most engagement sessions. I have to say that she is becoming an excellent photographer herself, and her ideas have been invaluable for sessions like this! She is monitoring our Pinterest account and posting lots of ideas for brides who need inspiration for hair, makeup, dresses, etc!
