Every year, weddings will take us to some of the most beautiful places on the Earth. While Jen and I have been to the Hawaiian Islands before, this was our first visit to Kauai, and more specifically Princeville. Princeville was absolutely incredible, and every where we turned we were faced with either lush, green jungle, or a beautifully textured beach.
The beauty surrounding the islands was only one part in the equation here. Ashley and Marco shared a bond that was rooted in years of walking hand in hand together. Their relationship has gone back nearly 2 decades, growing up together. During the wedding, their heartfelt vows went above and beyond in explaining the incredible story these two share together. Framed by a beautiful backdrop, these two became husband and wife after 20 years of friendship.
With every destination wedding, we do a pre-wedding or day-after session. Ashley, being a Hawaii native, took us to some of the most incredible spots on the island. Some, requiring us to bypass the “no entry allowed” signs, but nonetheless we found some beautiful locations for shooting, including one place on the edge of Waimea Canyon, known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific.
In one of my most favorite weddings this year, we had the opportunity to document a beautiful couple, in an incredible location. This is our 4th destination wedding this year outside of California. In the coming months we will be photographing brides in London, Paris, Portugal, The Dominican Republic, and Atlanta, GA. We cannot wait for all of the amazing images to come!
