Maternity portraiture is one of my favorite genres to shoot as a photographer. There is something amazing about a new family starting that any photographer that photographs weddings can appreciate. It’s also our most often photographed genre outside of weddings and by extension, boudoir photography as well. Maternity photography gets to capture the transition of a couple to a family, and for us represents the second part of our client’s lives.
We had the opportunity to photograph this awesome session in Santa Clarita. We shot this session in the late afternoon, and I loved the looks that Kayla put together. The warm tones of the scene complimented their look perfectly.
Santa Clarita has some really awesome, California looking places, with earthy tones that matched the look that these two put together perfectly.
Photographers
We photographed this session with two lenses, the Canon RF 85mm F/1.2 and the Canon RF 50mm F/1.2. Now you may notice this is a bit of a different look for us. We ask our clients to send us a mood board prior to our shoot, and we will shoot and edit specifically for their style. For more information about how we do that, check out the new video just added to our Lightroom Masterclass and preset system which just launched a few weeks ago!
