Hawaii is known as a beautiful destination for vacationers. But many people don't know that it is also an amazing destination wedding location. The island of Maui features a beautiful volcanic-shaped landscape, that is perfect for Cinematic Portraits. After taking this bride to a local Beach on the North Shore, we were met with strong forces of wind, which can typically wreak havoc on a photoshoot, however, we were prepared...I bringing a Longdale, and working with the makeup and hair artist to place the bride in an updo oh, we were able to turn what could have been a disastrous photo shoot, into one of the most beautiful that we have photographed in Hawaii...Jasmine's look was phenomenal, perfectly Hawaiian, and stunningly beautiful. Her floral crown juxtaposed against dark rocks in the foreground allowed for the stark contrast that we need in order to achieve balance in a photograph...In order to obtain this Photograph, Jennifer was working with the bride's Veil in conjunction with the Wind while I was directing her hands in her legs into a pose that felt fluid and natural considering the motion that was being created by Nature. Giving good direction is essential to help communicate your vision to your clients, which is why we always take the extra time to work out the fine details before pressing the shutter button.
